Contract and Cancellation Fees
As previously mentioned, AMP securities contracts are some of the longest we’ve seen. Other companies typically have a contract length of one to three years, but AMP Smart locks you in for a period between three and five years. They also make it difficult and expensive to cancel. The cancellation fees will be either $1,250 or the remainder of your balance, whichever is greater.
How Do You Cancel Your AMP Service?
You can cancel your AMP Security service by writing a letter showing your intent to discontinue your service. You may also need to pay cancellation fees. This letter must be mailed to the companies headquarters in American Fork, Utah. They do not accept phone calls or emails.

We did a test on ampsmart.com to find information about their packages but were unable to find this. The team even went so far as to place a phone call to the company hotline (800) 817 3918, but no one would answer the question.
Instead, they informed us we would need to speak with sales reps at their convenience and listen to a sales pitch, which may be one of the company’s sales tactics in their sales process.

The AMP Smart reviews online noticeably mention a lot of complaints about the company’s customer service and automatic renewal policy. However, after doing extensive research, we conclude that the Smart AMP security system can deliver satisfactory services despite such complaints.

AMP does not have a BBB rating, since it’s not accredited with the Better Business Bureau. They have a B- rating with 337 customer reviews and 227 customer complaints. The company actively works to close each of the complaints they receive.
